Exhibition:
I have always been attracted to the concept of colors, particularly the effortless yet powerful impact they have on people. For this exhibition, I am exploring the subject of colors. I learned that colors are a form of language that can transmit messages without using words or sounds.
Colors have the potential to break down language barriers and touch on people of all races, classes, and cultures, similarly. After doing a lot of research, I decided to create a monograph that dissects the foundation of language structure and, in turn, and demonstrates that colors are at their core another form of language..
Monograph:
Color Language consists of 5 chapters, 80+ pages, various textured papers (including transparent paper), cutouts, and more. Each chapter explains a pillar of language, and it is compared to characteristics of color to show the similarities between, and best demonstrate my thesis.
Thesis:
Every culture relies on a distinct form of written and verbal communication. Problems arise when different cultures attempt to communicate with one another. In contrast, color is a form of communication that transcends language barriers. I intend to dissect and demonstrate the language of color through a visually experiential monograph.
Transparent Pages:
As we dive into the book, we can see that each chapter is unique. For example, Pragmatics means how the context of a sentence changes the meaning of a word. I compare this to how the color changes its meaning in different countries, in other words, different contexts. For each color, I created a collage representing the various meanings of that color. I placed the collage in the transparent paper so that that reader could see the information behind it.

Exhibition:
For my exhibition, I wanted to create an ambiance that would make people curious and ask themselves why there was a wall of plastic balls. After getting their attention, I would show them the book that I created and explain to them my thesis. The wall had various usage; it marked the space where my exhibition was, made a backdrop for my book, and brought one of the pages to reality.
I had two stands that showed the books I created and held the takeaways (bookmarks) I had done. On the wall, I attached my thesis and my information so that everybody could easily read it.

Book Marks:
I wanted to thank the people that went to my exhibition, so I created Bookmarks as my takeaways. The transparent pages from the book inspired the Bookmarks, and I wanted the audience to feel like they were taking part in the book with them.
Process Book:
The process book mainly explains how I came up with this idea and how I made it a reality. It contains the notes and research that I did to demonstrate my thesis. I designed the book to have the same style to maintain cohesion between the two.
